The members of AAJC, with their vast experience and knowledge, took the initiative to organize a gathering where they could share their insights and provide mentorship to young guests. During the meeting, they engaged in deep conversations, shared stories, and provided guidance that inspired and uplifted everyone present. The event was a perfect blend of wisdom, camaraderie, and learning, where mentors and mentees gained valuable insights and experiences. The atmosphere was full of positivity and motivation, and everyone left the gathering with a sense of renewed energy and purpose.
The African American Jazz Caucus aims to promote the rich musical culture and legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBI). Through our partnership with the Jazz Education Network (JEN), the AAJC selected North Carolina Central University to present this year's Spotlight Performance. The NCCU Jazz Ensemble, directed by Robert Trowers, was joined by artist-in-residence Joey Calderazzo and guest Tia Fuller.
The African American Network is an Institutional Member of the Jazz Education Network
